The City of Richmond and Community Services - Recreation is excited to hold this year’s “Snow Ball Scholarship Competition” event for West Contra Costa Unified School District and the private sector 2026 graduating Seniors.
The City of Richmond is committed to providing a safe environment to all attendees who participate in our programs. In the middle of a COVID pandemic, it was clear that the 2020 event would be cancelled to comply with CDC requirements. Instead of cancelling the event, Community Services - Recreation and the Hurlbut Benevolent foundation came together to keep the annual tradition alive. The only way to move forward and provide a safe environment was to host the first “Snow Ball Scholarship Competition” on a virtual platform. It was a success.
On January 24, 2026, the City of Richmond, Community Services - Recreation is proud to announce we will be hosting in person “The 73rd Annual Snow Ball King & Queen Scholarship Competition”.
